Marché Couvert

The boys keep going to bed super late and sleeping in, making them even more tired. We need to work on this so we can enjoy cooler mornings before 10 am. Today, Gabe woke me up (I'm guilty of sleeping in too, lol). We hopped on our bikes and rode to Hossegor. Gabe wanted to set up phone insurance at Orange, but it was closed even though the hours on the door say they are open 9 - 2 in the summer. All good, because the Hossegor market was happening! It was bustling with people, and I enjoyed seeing the jewelry, clothing, Basque tablecloths, baskets, bags, and more. We picked up some goodies for our next three meals, including cheese, gravalax, and fresh veggies. My basket and paniers were full. Oui Oui Baguette! I wish the market was open every day— I prefer the marché couvert to the supermarket anyday.

Language-wise, I'm feeling more confident, I am understanding more, and pushing myself to order in French. Gabe's been teaching me phrases so we can speak more French together instead of English. The boys and I are determined to become more self-assured, so Gabe doesn't have to handle everything all the time.

There is no swell and the tide has been high until midday. Tomorrow we hope to surf.
