Cravings
We found ourselves craving Mexican food. We lasted only two weeks! Haha. We went to the Grand Frais in Biarritz, where we managed to gather the ingredients except for jalapeños or anything spicy. Despite that, we were determined to make the best of it and prepare a Mexican lunch. We had guacamole and chips, along with chicken fajitas. The irony of the situation made it even more amusing. Here we are, in the beautiful town of Capbreton, thousands of miles away from Mexico, and yet we managed to recreate a Mexican lunch. We discovered that the tortillas we bought were made with some serious preservatives. We will have to make our own next time. Now, food coma has set in.
The car saga continues. Despite our hopes that the car would be ready today, we were disheartened to learn that it won't be available until next Friday. It's frustrating, to say the least, as everyone seems to be on vacation, making it difficult to find someone to work on the car. You know with Bastille Day tomorrow. We can't help but feel a sense of disappointment towards David for not considering the vacation season when he initially promised it would be ready in just three days. This unexpected delay has thrown a major wrench into our plans to visit the Todd family in San Benedetto del Tronto. Getting there is not an easy feat. If we were to fly from Biarritz, it would take us over 24 hours of travel time, which simply isn't worth it for a mere two-day visit. Our initial plan was to break in the new car and drive to Girona, Spain, from where we would catch a flight to Pescara. Once in Pescara, we intended to rent a car for the short one-hour drive to our destination. So, we will stay in Capbreton. Seve and Charlie won't get the experience they were looking forward to. We can't help but feel bad, but as always we will adapt and make the best of it. We will plan to see them next summer. :)
