Announcements
Scott sent an internal email with the staffing announcements for the next school year. And yes, I was on that list. It is now official, we pulled the plug, bandaid ripped … we are moving to Belgium! Holy crap.
Today we are heading up to Lake Tahoe for a few days of snow skiing and fun with the Panziera family at the Dowse-Curtis cabin. We made it to Sacramento and the boys were in quite a grumpy mood. Luke was expressing his regret for joining the school musical and that he didn’t “mean” to audition.
Gabe looked over at me, and said, “I think this is a good time to tell them!” smirking.
Well, since they were already in a bad mood and life sucks. Here it goes.
Gabe: “Hey boys, Mom and I have decided that we are going to live in Belgium next year.”
We looked at one another with a smile.
In Unison: “Nooooooooo.”
Luke: “Oh no. You can’t. 8th grade. I will miss all the 8th-grade perks. I am not going. I would rather live in a dumpster than go.”
Charlie: I have no idea what he was saying due to his hysterical crying.
We let them stew on it for about an hour. Then the questions came pouring in.
Luke: “Could I join a club soccer team?”
Charlie: “I am not going to school there. Mom can homeschool me.”
Luke: “Will we live near the Mignons?”
Charlie: “You can’t make me go to school there. I will stay and live with Nona.”
Luke: “We will miss playing on all the new stuff.” (referring to the new field at All Saints)
Charlie: “Can Seve come to visit?”
Charlie: “What about Scout? Will he come with us?”
The cat is out of the bag. Now what?
